Winners of the 2008 Cable's Leaders in Learning Awards were honored during a gala event on Wednesday, June 18th, 2008 at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC.

Diane Downs, Louisville, Kentucky

Diane Downs, a volunteer for the Louisville Leopard Percussionists, will be honored with a 2008 Cable’s Leaders in Learning Award at a ceremony Wednesday, June 18th at the Library of Congress. Downs is being honored for creating the Louisville Leopard Percussionists, a non-profit community organization for students aged 7-12. This community-building program helps students develop music appreciation, performance skills and proficiency on a variety of percussion instruments.
